Last month, I wrote a guest post about Solo Travel vs. Group Travel at Nomadic Matt’s Travel Blog.
Today, Matt follows up with some great thoughts on Good Group Travel - his experience with Gap Adventures, what people really think of tour groups, advantages with organized travel and why first time travellers should consider group travel.
Head over to Good Group Travel and join in the discussion.

I think it is an excellent idea for like minded people to travel in groups. Specially for fresh new travelers to travel in groups so they could have their best. But will this be a best option for people who are not equally adventurous??

It’s definitely an advantage if everyone in the group are on the same level when it comes to being adventurous, but I don’t think that’s a prerequisite to have a great trip.
Even though you travel in a group you can still make your own decisions on how adventurous you’d like to be. The thrill-seeker in the group might motivate the one who prefers a slower pace to take more risks. And the less courageous people might inspire the truly adventurous types to slow down and smell the roses, so to speak.
Many tour operators state on “what level” their tours are, so you can choose one that suits your style best. Whether group travel is the best option for people who are not equally adventurous depends on the people in the group, how well you know each other, and what activities you’re doing. I think you can’t know for sure until you’ve experienced it.
