I bet most of you are aware of travel sites such as Wayn and Tripadvisor. YouPlanet, one of the fastest growing travel communities in the world, takes this concept one step further with their special ambassador program enabling travellers to finance their trip. The Swedish entrepreneurs and YouPlanet founders Petter Hedestedt and Johan Lilja opened a beta version of their site www.YouPlanet.com today.    

The travel community is aimed for active people between 18-30 years of age. On the site, registered users can participate in forums, join groups, upload photos, read travel destination guides, plan their trip, read travel blogs and stay in touch with friends. YouPlanet gives backpackers and other travellers everything they need before, during and after their travels.

And with the unique ambassador program people can finance their travels while giving local hotels, hostels, restaurants and clubs an opportunity to promote their business in an easy and inexpensive way. The idea is comparable to a MySpace service for companies.

Johan Lilja, co-Founder of YouPlanet, commented: “This launch is not just yet another community at the market.
